I can’t discuss the great time the Nomads had at their July campout, because it hasn’t happened yet, and the article deadline is about here. The problem is that Judy and I will not be in California on July 30-Aug 1 when the Nomads gather for their campout at the Oceanside Elks Lodge. Judy and I will be on a two-week motorhome trip to Oregon for a Monaco rally where we expect to meet up with perhaps 300 other motorhomes. We expect to meet many old friends there and have a great time.
But Mel and Mary Hetzel are wagon-masters for Oceanside and Mel says he has everything ready to feed and entertain about a dozen rigs. This is usually a laid back style of campout, with visits to the pier for lunch, a meal or two in the Elks lodge, and evenings around a campfire. Of course there will also be a Saturday evening potluck dinner. So I’ll cover that event next month along with the results of the August 20-22 campout which will be at the Pechanga Resort in Temecula. Judy and I will host that one as wagon-masters and we have ten rigs signed up to attend.
So the Nomads are staying active and busy. Some, like the Ekstroms, are off on long trips, others are just busy, but that leaves plenty of room at our dinner meetings for a guest or two. So consider joining us for either one of our fun campouts or dinner meetings this summer.
