“SHORT PANTS & KNOBBY KNEES SUMMERTIME”

Monthly Dinner Meeting

WEDNESDAY, August 19th

Please be reminded that the location of our meeting is:

MIMI’S CAFE, 27430 LA PAZ ROAD, LAGUNA NIGUEL

SOCIAL, 6:00 P.M., DINNER, 7:00 P.M.

Cost: $22.00 per person

DINNER SELECTIONS: Pot Roast or Sweet & Sour Chicken

Dinners include, Soup or Salad, Beverage & Dessert

Please be advised that there is a 72 hour (3 day) cancellation policy for dinner reservations. Unfortunately, the Club must bill for any cancellations of less than that time and any no shows. We greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

Just a note to remind you that the Club Board of Directors unanimously decided that shorts would be acceptable attire, assuming you’ve got the legs for it, for the dinner meetings through September. It is also advised that long pants are likewise acceptable attire for the less courageous. A good excuse to dress like a tourist and show those knobby knees we’ve hidden all year long. Seriously, come in whatever you feel comfortable in. Let’s just have a good time.

Thanks to all who joined us for our July meeting. Our new venue seems to be working out well and has met with favorable comments. We sure had a good sized turn out and it all went well. We look forward to seeing you out to future dinner meetings.

Put a circle around Saturday, December 12th. This is the date of the Club’s official Christmas Concert & Party. We will be attending the wonderful, “Christmas at the Shores” musical program at South Shores Church, Floyd Reid sings in the choir, followed by dinner at Terry & Maggie Ake’s home. More details will follow as the whole program shapes up but hold the date.

The El Bekal Clown’s Official Potentate’s Visitation will be a San Pedro harbor cruise and seafood buffet lunch on Saturday, August 15th departing at 10:00 AM. All are invited, real Clowns, as well as people who just act like them. There is still plenty of room for those who would like to go for a leisurely cruise and lunch. See the enclosed flyer for cost and details.

LADIES OF THE FEZ

There will be an organizational meeting for the September Fund Raiser Dinner which will take place prior to the August Dinner meeting at Mimi’s Café on Wednesday, August 19th @ 5:30 to make plans. If you are unable to attend but would like to help, please contact Lady Marian Hill @ 949/240-8486. Your help is needed and any assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
