tin-lizzies

Dale Edwards, May 1, 2010

This has been a slow month for the Lizziers. Most of them are resting up following the Western Dance and Steak Fry event and are lazily waiting to participate in the Garden Grove Strawberry Festival parade in late May. They were in such a daze that our regular April business meeting was a bust as it fell on the day of the Shrine Stated Meeting, and so was moved to the prior week which slipped by unnoticed for all but three members.

Never the less, the Lizziers will be ready for the Garden Grove Strawberry Festival parade. We look forward to entertaining the parade spectators on the sidelines each year and hope that some of our new members will borrow a Lizzie from one of our available cars and join us. Besides being fun, it feels really great when someone comes out to us during a lull in a parade and asks about the Shrine Hospitals. After all, the main reason we participate in parades is to give publicity for the Shrine Hospitals. It really makes you feel good inside.

So why don’t you consider joining our happy little unit so you too can feel good? We do have Lizzie vehicles available and open slots in our roster so just call our Captain, John Edgmon at (714) 639-0337 or our Lieutenant, Rick Meadows at (714) 534-5036 to get more information.
