Welcome to the Mounted Patrol Page

The El Bekal Mounted Patrol is a Horse Parade Unit. We ride in parades, participate in ceremonies, contribute entertainment to hospital patients, give riding lessons to underprivileged children, have monthly trail rides and serve at the will and pleasure of the Potentate. Our parade cowboy outfits consist of black western pants, white long sleeve western shirt, fez, and red bolero. Each new member is given riding lessons if needed and assistance in getting the outfit together. Our Ladies, known as Wranglers, assist us at the parades, move trailers, and generally travel to all functions.

You do not have to be an expert rider to join as lessons are available to new members at Shady Oaks Ranch. Shriners and their families are welcomed to bring children to learn how to ride and work with horses.

Members who ride in parades need to own and maintain their own horse. The horse must be safe in a noisy situation and be able to carry a flag. Any breed or color of horse is welcomed. Western saddles are welcomed.

Members are invited to meet the first Sunday of each month at 10 A.M. for a meeting, horse back ride and parade practice. No meetings during bad weather. Contact Bill Hardy at Hardyshadyoaks@gmail.com if you are interested in joining the fun and helping kids build character and confidence through horses.
